Upgrades 8. Tunnel Bag with Heated Seat Cutouts
Once you start taking the car out for some drives you will notice the best spots for storage in the car. For starters, as useful as the map pocket is between the seats on the bulkhead, it is not really ideal for racing into whilst driving, especially with the harnesses. So that area is best used for things that you might need, but you don't mind stopping for to get access. The best locations are clearly those near your hands which ends up being locations off the tunnel area.
To the rescue come Soft bits for Sevens. They offer loads of solutions for this and will cut out switches based on your own template. I ordered the Carbon Vinyl touring tunnel bag to match my tunnel, and then sent them over a template to match my switches. The touring bag has a bigger pocket on the passenger side, which I think is essential as the smaller pockets won't be big enough for me (I'm hoping to keep a cap/hat/sunglasses in this part, maybe even some slim gloves so I can easily access them when driving).
There are a few other places for storage. behind the passenger seat has some, and also under the passenger seat, so I'm going to see what I can come up with here, so far I've only needed space for some sunglasses, a cap and a water bottle but I think this list will likely grow for longer drives.
Here is the template I sent them:
And the finished product, excuse the filthy floors and missing dash dials (I was in the middle of wiring up the shift lights when I took the photo!)
